4 Million Members and Supporters for Equality

We’ve dedicated over 40 years to building a robust movement for equality, the most impactful our country has ever seen. However, even with this progress, our most marginalized communities continue to face violence, discrimination, and fear. Our mission in LGBTQ+ advocacy is to ensure that all LGBTQ+ people, particularly our trans individuals, people of color, and those living with HIV+, receive the LGBTQ+ resources they need to thrive as full and equal citizens. Furthermore, we strive to promote mental health support and suicide prevention within our movement, throughout our country, and around the globe.

Every day, Lambda Legal is in court, fighting back. But we don’t do it alone. With every act of support you stand with us.

They had $25 in the bank and a new name—Lambda Legal—that co-founder Bill Thom taped to his apartment mailbox using a Band-Aid. In the half-century that followed from that modest start, Lambda Legal has grown into a truly national organization with a staff of more than 100 strong, headquarters in New York City, and offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. Committed to LGBTQ+ advocacy, Lambda Legal provides crucial LGBTQ+ resources, focusing on mental health support and suicide prevention to help the community thrive.
